I liked “Jacob’s Ladder.” I was strongly remind of flight and being suspended in a moment in time. “Your Comment Here” was particularly intriguing. I found the green striking. The engineer in me liked the cleanness and the precision of the work. There is a phallic undertone but that was noticed as a final parting thought. “DNA Gone Wrong” was a name most appropos. When i first saw it I was particularly intrigued by it, but was ultimately left wanting. It struck me as incomplete piece as the lines seemed to direct to me to something but there was no there there. Upon learning the name I feel he captured the essence of it. “Don’t Look” was particularly interesting. It immediately appealed to the inner voyeur, and the juxtaposition of a keyhole view and being on the outside looking in. The actual work reminded of a rudimentary greek experiment in levers, counterbalance and physics. Archimedes sprang to mind. ‘Going Postal’ left a lot to be desired, ultimately did not appeal to me. Much like a curio that one only warrants a momentary glance.
Dwayne I have always been very proud of everything you have undertaken, but I am very happy for you in what I have seen tonight. It was definitely worth our trip to Atlanta
I love the contrast of the materials color and what they are made of. The wood piece with the copper wire drilled into it is a beatuiful example of this contrast and how melodious the different materials are when put together.
Loved everything made out of the bolts. the red piece with the stacked triangles is awesome. reminds of a “rush” feeling on a ski jump or something of the sort. each of the pieces in the courtyard as well. The floating wood, though it didnt take much time, a great idea, really does make a statement.
Dwayne, I have heard about your work for a couple of years but last night was the first chance I could make it to one of your exhibits. Seeing your work in person just was amazing. I had no idea that your work was so grandeur. You are talented in so many ways it is apparent now why so many rave about your work. Each piece had its own vibe and unique emotion. Way to go sir!!
Mr. Bass!!!! you are so talented. your forms and shaping of objects to the direct and indirect relations from their origins and beyond was so well done. Every piece you had was a one of a kind. I am sure my clients will be wanting your pieces for their buildings soon. Cant wait to share!!! Please keep me informed of all of your new creations.
I just wanted you to know that I am proud of you bro. You are an inspiration in perserverance. Keep being true to your heart and live strong my friend!

Dwayne’s sculptures are a fine balance between industrial and natural worlds.
