Vacation Bible School, Jacksonville, AL

On April 27, 2011 tornadoes tore through the Jacksonville, Alabama community.  Homes, businesses, and places of worship were damaged.  Even though these storms were devastating, God can bring good out of anything.  With God’s help, we can be creative with anything that comes our way.

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.  So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.” Psalm 46:1-2

Vacation Bible School(VBS) at First Baptist Church of Williams in Jacksonville, Alabama was held June 6-9, 2011.  TWOvital’s Dwayne Bass helped with the arts and crafts portion by collecting tree debris and some wood from a destroyed barn.  The children painted an image of the globe on a disc of wood and then attached that to a base using the barn wood.  Then they glued the bible verse of the week and some images of the activities they participated in during VBS.  A description was also glued to the back of the piece so the children would always remember from where the materials came and how important it is to be creative from everything that God has given us. Currently Bass is creating a sculpture with the extra wood pieces that the children painted to be on display at the church to help remind others that we all have to keep the faith positive.
